SHREE GURUNANAK VIDYALAYA  , Station Road , Giridih was founded in 1972, under the aegis of Gurunanak Educational Society with the prime motive of providing value based quality and holistic education to one and all, irrespective of caste, creed religion etc.

The school is located in the heart of the town yet amidst tranquil surroundings conductive for learning. Its ideal location makes it convenient and safe (especially for toddlers and girls) to commute daily.

The school was founded to provide value based quality education to one and all irrespective of case, creed, religion etc. Special efforts were made to reach out to the lesser privileged, down-trodden and economically week strata of the society.

It had a humble beginning with only a few students and a couple of teachers who taught in small rooms with thatched roofs. However, perseverance and patience paved way for the more than 39 years, the school reached its first milestone in 2011 when it got affiliated to CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi) up to secondary level. Only a couple of years later in 2017, the school was upgraded to  (10+2) level by the board.

Ever since, there has been no looking back and the institution has consistently progressed over the years. Today, the school has an impressive building which has well equipped laboratories for Science and Computer, Library, Music room besides provisions for a host of other activities.

Hundred of students come to this temple of learning where they are not only educated but also groomed into responsible citizens of the country.
